Android Auto Help
So I have Android auto working in my 2016. Works fine.....
The one thing I can't figure out and I am sure there is a setting some where that I've just missed.
When I connect my phone via USB it auto launches Android Auto. Is there a setting to disable this? Sometimes I would just like to plug in to charge and not have AA start automatically. I would prefer to plug in my phone and select AA to launch it, not have it launch on its own.
Can anyone help me out??

Correct, you can control this from the app on your phone. I had AA running in my 04 Ranger before I traded it on. Running the Pioneer 4100NEX. I miss my AA but the sync3 is pretty nice.

Sync3 is fairly useless. According to tech support at Ford, it is basically just having "a bigger cell phone screen." I'm going to rip it out and put a functional system in it's place. Sync3 doesn't even have GPS. Ford's "tech" is 1990's-based.
Thanks for the replies so far....still having trouble though. So, been through the settings in AA (on my phone). There is an "auto launch" section. If I go in there, there is "Start Android Auto automatically when your phone connects to your car's bluetooth". That is unchecked, but I don't even think this is the correct setting, since the issue is when I plug in my phone to the truck's USB port. That is when AA auto starts on the Sync screen.
In an ideal world, I would like to plug in my phone to charge, and if I want to launch AA, I press the Android Auto button on the Sync 3 screen to initiate it.
I know not everyone has Sync 3, v2 yet, but surely those that do, can help me out? Maybe it's not even possible??? Or maybe I am just missing something....
