Default Ambient lighting

I bought my XLT off the lot and was disappointed that it didn't have the ambient lighting feature. I have the front seats where the middle one flips up or down. I know Ford sells the kit but is it a plug and play kind of thing? Would I be better off getting an aftermarket LED kit? If so what would I connect it to to get the same lighting affect? Ignition, dome light, headlight? Thank you

I'm not sure off the top of my head which it is. I'll have to dig out the window sticker. It's got the chrome package.

The after the fact LED kit offered for Fords does not interface with MFT like the factory ambient lighting. Pretty much the same as adding an aftermarket kit.

You can plug your VIN where mine is in this link and it'll give you the window sticker..
