Alignment with new tires?
It's not necessarily normal, but tires are expensive and I want to get the most possible life out of them, so I get an alignment whenever I buy new tires. 35's aren't cheap!! I also tend to change around my suspension set up so I usually get an alignment after that.
For example, I am getting close to needing new tires and I just installed a new suspension setup on my truck so I'll get an alignment done before I get the new tires.

First two sets on mine wore horribly. My tire shop checked alignment in spec several times. Experienced tech, after asking how often I tow, and if he could experiment, put several hundred pounds on the tailgate and set the alignment his way. That was at about 60k, now at 188k with no alignment work needed since. Truck has bounced off lots of dirt road rocks. And crashed through many huge I-40 Arizona potholes. Suspension has held up well with nothing but shock replacements, (Bilstien 4600).

I changed my tires about a month ago and took it for an alignment check the next day and it was only out a little bit.
However on my previous truck it was out quite a bit more on it's last tire change.
I drive often on badly paved country roads (tar and gravel) and some of the city roads are even worse so I always think it's worth having it checked.
