Default Alignment issues

Had The Works performed yesterday at 25,000 miles and they said I needed an alignment. Tires have been rotated every 5,000 miles at the oil change, All 4 tires are wearing on both the inside and outside edges with the middle like new. This was the first time this was brought to my attention. If it was an alignment issue wouldn't it just be wearing on the outside edges? This is on a 2016 Lariat supercab 4x4. I read here where some are getting in excess of 50,000 miles on the original tires. These are the Good Year Wrangler tires and are the 20" tires.

There's no alignment needed on a live axle, since there's nothing you can adjust (camber, caster, or toe). Therefore, if the front tires are like the rears, you shouldn't have an alignment issue in front. You seem to have an air pressure issue. When tires wear like that, they're typically under-inflated. When over-inflated, they wear more in the middle. Makes sense? What pressures are you running? My truck calls for 35 all around with the 20" Dynapros, which I've been using. I thought it was too little for such a heavy whale. Ha ha. But truck rides like crap any higher, so even if they last a little less, will keep them at 35. They seem to be wearing evenly, but only 6,700 miles so far. Maybe you're using less. By the way, my TPMS shows 33, so if you've been relying on that (you shouldn't), that'd be your problem . Let us know about pressures you run, what your door label says, and tire brand/model.

Wearing on inside and outside is usually a sign of under inflated tires. Especially if that is happening in the rear. Nothing to adjust in the rear.

Does your shop have one of these revenue multiplying machines installed?

I'd be more inclined to believe them if they did as opposed to saying it needed one based on the tires. Those machines actually work pretty well. In fact, I'd find a dealership that has one and see what it says.

So we dont need alignments on our trucks? I put some new rims on and noticed my steering wheel is a hair off from center when going straight so i was going to do an alignment

Alignment in the front. None in the rear.
