AFE Scorcher
I have been debating a tuner since i got my truck. But i have 2 issues.
The obvious being the warranty, but the other being that i leased my truck. It could potentially mean penalties at the time the lease is up if the tuner is discovered.
I found this AFE scorcher, and it seems like it does a good job, in the sense that it is a power adder, that doesn't leave a footprint in the ECU that the dealer can detect.
I have only found reviews from people with previous model year trucks. Those reviews are 60/40 in favor of the positive, but i take any review with a grain of salt. None of the reviews list the mileage, or condition of the trucks they are being used in.
Has anyone had any experience with these?
Thanks

This is also my internal debate, I have a new SCT X4 tuner sitting at home that I don't dare use as I could lose warranty. At the least they could just not warranty a certain item if they think I installed a tuner.......
This does not modify the tune at all, so there technically is no returning to stock tune or flashing of any kind.
Its either the device is plugged in, and tricking the factory ecu/tune to make an extra 2 lbs of boost or it is not plugged in.
The only thing that ford may be able to see is that there may have been some weird readings in the factory data logging, coming from the boost pressure valve, and MAS.
But as long as the device was removed before bringing in for service, there would technically be no way for them to tell if the device was there or not....
I am confident this is a way of getting around the warranty/lease worries, but i just want some piece of mind hearing from some other people who have run this setup.

I would not use one of those things that alter the sensor signals to the ecu. You are just asking for trouble. If you want to tune it, go with a reputable tuning company and reflash the ECU.
Flash it back to stock and you will be fine on the lease return. Nobody plugs anything into the ECU to check during the return. The checkover is a just a visual. If it looks good and runs normally, you won't be charged.
As far as warranty goes, if something fails in the powertrain that was caused by the tuning, it's not going to be covered. Your whole warranty can not be voided. For example if your radio doesn't work, that will still be covered.
