Default Adding Puddle Lights on side view mirrors

Hello,

Does anyone know if it's possible to add puddle lights to side view mirrors that didn't come with them from the factory?

Thanks in advance!

Don't know, but I have them and they suck. They light up the ground great until you open the door, then you can't see right where you need to step. Worst puddle lights in the world. I'm looking at taking the wires from mine and installing a small puddle light under the door sill.

You have to cut the mirrors to add them, the spot is not there already. The factory puddle lamps would be very hard to cut the shape needed, easier to find after market lamps. The wiring also has to be there.

why not just add LED strips to the underside of the truck? have them come on with the interior lights.

I like when the puddle lights come on, just not how the area you want to step goes dark when the door opens. Easiest way to correct is to tap into the puddle light wiring. Of course it would be LED. Figure I'll place them under the running board. One thing is for sure. Wouldn't waste two minutes installing the factory ones even if I got them for free.
