Default Adding LED headlights aftermarket

Hi All,

Does anybody know what would be involved in upgrading to the OEM LED headlamps if the truck just came with the standard halogens?

Reason being that I'm ordering a Lariat but you can't get the LED's along with the 2.7 EB (which is my preference because I only tow a few times a year and the fuel economy is a huge plus). I love the look of the LED's so much I don't think I could stomach it seeing other Lariats out there knowing I'm sporting lame old halogens.

Same question and same reasoning as you. Not only that, but you need to add 502a. That package was quite a jump up from 501a

I agree, don't see that the other options you're getting with 502a justify the cost just to get LED.

I picked all of the options I wanted out of 502a. Paying another ~4k for LED headlamps wasn't worth it. However, I still want them badly, and will wait patiently for a conversion kit.

There are many manufacturers out there that are making LED headlight conversion kits that are just bulbs and ballasts. They are all plug and play, very simple. I installed them on my 09 F350, both the headlights and fogs and they looked awesome and were twice as bright as the stock halogens.

Yeah you can retrofit all you want, but it's not like the stock lights. Check to see the connections and if you can wire them up. It is do-able, but I heard the actual head light is super expensive

Just bit the bullet and went with the 502a package and the 5.0L so I could get the LEDs. In the end I was worried that even if someone comes out with a way to upgrade that the orange LED strip and such may not function as stock.

12-16 week estimate for delivery though is painful. Wish I could just fall asleep for the next 15 weeks.

The Orange LED strip is on all models. It's just the LED headlamp that's on 502 packages and + models.
