Default adding heated windshield/wiper area

I need to have a new windshield put in my 2019 XL and was wondering if its possible to upgrade and add the windshield with the heated park area for the wipers. Anyone know how they connect or if it's even possible. My idea was to try and splice it in to the rear defrost so it would come on automatically with remote start. I live in Maine so the added heat area would be helpful. I appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance.

Save your money. I have it on my Lariat and do not see any difference from my old XLT without it.

figured that might be the case. I had to get the windshield replaced. The company was going to replace it with either one for free, so figured it was worth a shot to see what it would take. Appreciate the advice.

If there's no cost difference or you're not replacing the windshield just for that, then why not go for the one with the heating element and find out if its doable? If you can't figure it out or it isn't something you can add, you still have a windshield - does it really matter if it has a non-functional heating element at that point? That's what I'd probably do anyway.

EDIT: if it helps, attached is the wiring diagram as it pertains to the heated windshield element. Seems pretty simple if you have or can get that relay in your BJB and its already wired for it on the power input side. Might just be one wire from that BJB to the windshield element and another to ground... Not sure if beyond adding the relay if its something that has to be programmed to work though... I don't know the conditions that close that relay but if might be easy enough to get the relay, throw it in, wait for or simulate the conditions, and see if it closes.

I am in MN and my Subaru WRX has this. I haven't tried it in the F150 but I park in a heated garage. Where the heated windscreen helps is when you have snow and ice build up when parked. You know how your wipers freeze down to the glass. I start the vehicle and let it warm up before scraping the windows. The heated park area helps break the wipers free without having to try and rip them off the glass. As for driving down the road they don't seem to do anything. Again this was on my Subaru but I assume the Ford is about the same.

It snowed here last night and my truck was outside for once. Remote start and the defrost comes on rear and mirror and should front window. There was no melting in the area covered by the so called heated shield. I could look at the element and the snow on it from inside and it did absolutely nothing.
