Hey guys.
I came across an ACM (audio control module) from a 502A. These of course come with HD Radio and the Sony system.
The question is, how do you add it to a non 502A? Here's my conundrum:
HD radio only exists on Sony's systems, which means they have a DACMC (Digital audio control module C) because all functions on the sony are digitally controlled.
This means that stuff like balance/fader and more importantly, volume, is controlled by the DACMC digitally. This is to say in layman's terms that when I connected the ACM to my 302A, it came up at full blast (and OMG does it distort bad at max volume), but with HD radio and all other features.
I tried using the as-built from a 501A and the everything now functions normally (including volume) but I lose the HD radio tuning.
Is there a way to program the ACM with the as-built from a non-sony (302A thru 501A) which wont include the DACMC and retain HD radio?
Thanks
