I agree with Bluegrass. Why are you people obcessed wth installing the crap Ford 400w inverter? There are pure sine wave units out there for under $200 and they won't give you the problems the Ford one will.

Bringing this back up as I read through the whole 14 pages and wanted to clarify / make an easy Pinned post possibly.

2015-2020 parts are as follows:

110V 400 watt single plug FL3Z-19N236-A
Pigtail WPT-962

110V 400 watt plug w/ 12V outlet Fl3z-19a487-B
also uses WPT-962 for the 110V outlet portion.

Also had a question on WPT-962. Is it coming with 16ga wire? I have seen a lot of sites reporting it is 18ga. Guessing maybe its aftermarket equivalents?

How did you go about the wiring from the inverter to the outlets in the dash/rear of console? I see you have what looks to be an extension cord plugged in to your inverter. Just can't get my head around splicing the other end into the oem outlets.

The main power and ground wires, the really thick ones in the pics below are directly attached to the fuse panel under the hood directly behind the battery. Have not looked to see which one yet but this is where it terminates. Its not quite this simple just yet though, as there are 2-3 wires, about 22ga that I believe is pinned at the BCM...again not a big deal as pinning the BCM is quite easy to do as long as you know where and what to pin. The black connector at the rear of my truck shows all of these wires...the orange connector is the one that goes from the inverter and to the power points, front and rear. Obviously they will need to be run in a truck that didnt come with this..The wires for this is routed back along the passenger side and unc=der the large bundle of wires under the passenger seat where they split...one set goes to the floor console harness (can be bought separately) and the other, up to the dash where the other powerpoint in. The last set of wires in part of the main dash harness..The may be there behind the trim panel, they may not. If they are you are in business as far as NO having to run more wires...if not, still not a hard task at all...just plan it out. I will try to pass along/help out where I can, but understand my truck is completely void of the interior etc as I am installing my new Lariat dash board, and running all sorts of various wires for new additions I am adding to my truck. If I dont answer right away, please dont blow up my PM box...it already needs to be emptied out every other day.....serious, lol. I will get back to your questions in THIS thread. Pics below show the wires and their path to the rear of the truck. Enjoy, and have heart, this is one of the easier mods you can do yourself...with a lil planning.

Hello,

I tried to find the wires that would go to the inverter and I could not find them based off your directions. I have a 2019 LT with the STX trim. I want to add the inverters and the plugs. Did I just not look hard enough, Do I need to pull up the vinyl floor to find the cables, or do different models have different wiring harnesses.

@FliteM3dIk Different trims have different wiring harnesses. Some may have the wiring tucked in under the carpet or behind a trim panel; some may completely not have it.
