That's what I thought too but not the case

What was the reason that you could not add the painted end caps to the original bumper?

I did answer this in another thread, but lord knows where that is at this point, lol. The problem is, as his pic of the backside of the front bumper shows, there are holes in the bumper for alignment tabs to go through. I'm sure you could cut the slits and drill the holes in the bumper, but then you risk the chrome peeling and the steel rusting. There are many different bumper options for the truck as follows: Black, no plastic caps/black, with plastic caps/ chrome, no plastic caps/and chrome, with plastic caps. Then of course those options with or without the fogs. I've considered that you could potentially shorten the tabs that go through the front of the bumper so that they sit on top of the bumper and not through it, but the ends of the bumper are different for the ones with the caps.

Thanks for the quick reply! I do see that now in his pics. Thanks for the explanation!

Anytime, no need for the time I spent looking it up and trying to plan it out to go to waste. Saves someone else time.

So you got a new bumper, end caps, and paint work done for $500?

No, that does not include the new bumper. On Tasca the platinum bumpers are running about $370.

Sorry to dredge up an older post, but I just scuffed my painted plastic end caps in my platinum 15 screw with ruby red pain. I was wondering how do these end caps attach to the bumper? Are they just clips or are they bolted, or both? The end caps are like $75 on tasca and I can get a local guy to paint it for me. But is it pretty easy to remove and replace the end cap? Thanks.
