If you look at the pics in post 79, it looks like there's a housing cast into the bezel that the switch is clipped in to.

I don't think just cutting a hole will work.

Im approaching it a little different. The tech package was $900 MSRP. If I can stay below that and add park assist and lane keeping then I'll be happy. This assumes of course that the camera in the mirror is the right camera. $1300 makes this process a no go. That would leave only the 360 camera missing and I don't know that I can justify adding it at the cost it will take to buy all the parts.

Having pulled the panel off I can confirm that something would have to be fashioned onto the existing panel to hold the button. The other concern is can you remove the leather cover from the panel and install it onto another panel. I did not inspect it close enough unfortunatley. You would definitely have to separate the panel from the shifter by either removing the leather from the shifter shaft or the panel.

Ya you can. I accidentally removed the leather boot when trying to take the panel off. It's six push clips, 3 on each side

Awesome. Thanks for confirming.
Mine has the hole in it as well as the lane keeping switch. reposting of those pics

Here's one originally posted by 2016BoostedGreyGoose, I believe it was for a platinum, He posted it in the Adding hill decent control thread, Hope he doesn't mind my reposting it. Looks identical to mine 'cept lot less Corgi fur and 3 cupholder nubs instead of 2

Ok so I couldn't find either part # on these, But I did order all these parts to add park assist to mine while I was at it, and for giggles the hill decent switch all for 101.63 from Tasca.

Just for clarity, it looks like the 502A without the Tech package is missing two critical things for park assist and lane keeping: 1) The panel that goes around the shifter and 2) The wiring harness that plugs into the connector below the shifter that splits into three wires (the harness we have splits into 2 wires).

We have the part number for the panel but we need someone (a Ford parts department I suppose) to help with the wiring harness.

Edit: I spoke with my Ford dealer parts guy today. He tells me that the bezel we need is in fact GL3Z-1504567-EA. He also said that the wiring harness should be GL3Z-14A318-K.

I checked my 502A under the panel and sure enough, harness is not present.

I'm headed to the dealer later today and I think I'm just going to order a harness from a limited that has LKA and Park assist for the console. Most that I look up are only around 50 bucks so no big deal if it's not what I need.

Should be around 100 bucks for harness and switch.

Looks to be around 250 for just the stupid plastic panel though. As long as the existing camera behind the mirror is correct, it should be functional for around the 100 bucks and at least proof of concept.

I'll see if I can get it working first before thinking about ordering that expensive piece of plastic.

Or maybe something will pop up used on ebay for a reasonable price.

Yeah, like that's going to happen....

why not add some pigtails to the harness to test the switch?
