Default Acutal Payload thread

Hi everybody,
I'm new to the forum and getting ready to order a 2015 Lariat 4X4 SCREW 3.5EB.

The build and price tool shows you maximum payload after choosing trim, engine, cab style and box size, but it's hard to get a realistic number because it does not give you a final payload number after you've added options. Also in the case of XL, XLT and Lariat the payload number it gives you assumes max payload package. Max payload listed for a Platinum or KR is 2,070 lbs with 3.5EB, SCREW, 4X4, 6.5' Box. Both those trims come with most of the available options and don't offer max payload package, So I'm assuming that even if I add most options to a Lariat I will still end up with close to 2,000 lbs payload.

Now that more and more folks are starting to see these trucks in person I'd like to start a thread posting actual payload numbers as listed on the door stickers. The post should include trim level, engine, cab style, 4x4/4X2, box size and all non base options.

Just saw that I have a typo in the thread title. Should read Actual, not Acutal. Does anyone know if I can change the thread title?

Maxwell Ford in Austin TX has a 2015, Lariat 3.5EB, 4X4, Fx4 on the lot and I just got back from looking at it.

First impressions are WOW. Awesome truck. Really everything I expected it would be and no disappointments, exept I'm kind of annoyed to see they left the code/keypad on the driver side door, does anyone actually use that now with auto lock/unlock on the key fob? Now on to business.

The yellow sticker on the door says occupants and cargo should not exceed 1568 lbs. My understanding is that this is the actual payload for that specific truck and that unlike most payload numbers given by the manufacturer "occupants" includes the driver. So if you are a 150 lb guy the working payload is actually 1418. That is a lot less than I thought it would be given that the build price tool puts the the payload for a base Platinum 3.5 EB 4x4 at 2010 lbs and presumably you do not subtract the driver from that. So where are are those 592 lbs?

I had the wife and kid with me and could not make a fully detailed list of all options and neglected to get a VIN. The vehicle is not yet listed on they're website. So from memory the configuration is as follows

2015, Lariat, 3.5EB, 4X4, Supercrew, 5.5' box.
FX4 package
Tow package (don't think it was max tow)
20" wheels (which I think are part of the FX4 package)
Twin panel moon roof
Tailgate step
Front bucket seats

Honestly I'm not really sure what else to list. It was pretty fully loaded and had an MSRP of around $56,000.

That is close to what I ordered less the moon roof , 20" wheels and tailgate. Add in the spray liner and 18" wheels. Coming from my 2009 SC 4x4 Lariat 5.4L with a 1179 lb payload the 1500+ lb payload is an improvement.

Look like most of the GVWR have been lowered by a few hundred pounds. The XLT Screw 4x4 5.5bed with a 2.7 was 6500 with actual payload of 1420.

I can only assume this also applies to Ford but GM includes 150lbs for the weight of the driver and a full tank of gas in the calculation of available payload.

I'm fairly certain payload #s don't include any driver, but they do include a full tank of gas.
In regards to the builder showing ~2k, well its just flat out incorrect. The XLT shows the same, and the lariat definitely weights more so should be less. Other things that add weight to subtract from that # are sunroof (likely ~100#), fx4 package (~100 #), 36 vs 26 fuel tank (~60-70#). I'd like the sunroof, but not sure if its worth it yet esp with the weight. I was planning to start a similar thread to this, so lets keep it going with posts of:
VIN (ideal) + truck specifics/options/etc + payload sticker value
With that info, we can come up with a table of what various options take away from the payload. I've been looking for pics, but dealers aren't very good about taking a picture of the yellow payload sticker along with the rest of the truck. Sometimes they get the white GVWR sticker, but it doesn't have curb weight or payload info on it.

It would be kinda silly to get the 2.7 w/o the payload package if you plan on using it as a truck at all.
