Default Acceptable windshield replacement???

I had to have my windshield replaced under warranty this week. I specifically asked the service manager if it would be replaced with the same one. He replied yes it would in turn get back “what Ford had put into it originally”. Well this one does not say Soundscreen, and has the Pilkington EZ KOOL PLUS label on it. Is this right? I damn sure don’t want inferior glass compared to what i had paid for. Any advice is appreciated!

SoundScreen® acoustic windshield isn't the same as the EZ-Kool windshield . One is soundproofing, other is more UV

I see that Pilkington offers a “sound shield” windshield but they didn’t use that either. Guess I’ll be headed back up there this morning.

Went through this on our lincoln MKT, second time they used ford OEM with the logo and all, just have to specify OEM or they give you equivalent which is not always equivalent.

Yep. This is normal.

What you can do is request the exact part number (Located dead center, lowest part of the glass just above the black paint) and request the exact one you want.

Realizing your windshield is long gone, try and find one on the lot that matches your old one. Nearly every model vehicle has more than three windshields. It depends on UV, sound deadening, digital readouts, cameras, ETC....
