Default AC Squeal

Noticed after starting up then turn on the AC there is a high pitched squeal for about 2 seconds then goes away. Recently had the water pump and serpentine belt replaced about 2 months ago but just started within the last 2-3 weeks.

Had the same problem last summer. The dealership replaced the belt tensioner and the problem was solved. The bearing was probably pooched as they stated on the service invoice that it was "stiff". They also replaced the belt preemptively.

Well I'm in Canada and as you know, the Canadian Peso isn't worth nearly as much as an American Greenback these days.

Looks like the belt was about $35 (~$26USD) which was sold to me at cost, the tensioner was $65 (~$48USD) and they charged $132 (~$97USD) for labour.

If you decide to let another shop, or do it yourself (rather easy), I'd use OEM parts or quality parts from Napa or something.
I would not put Autozone chinese junk on it, it won't last. I've always liked Goodyear Gator belts.

Look at Youtube, I would really be surprised if a video is not on there.
