AC recirculate setting
Hey guys. So since I bought my truck, whenever I turn the truck on, the recirculating button on the climate control panel automatically comes on (stays on). Now, it turns off whenever you turn the truck off. I put Katzkins on last week am disconnected the battery while working in the truck. Could that have reset some setting? Just wanted to pick your brains to see what may have caused this or if there is a way to get the recirculating set as a “default”. Thanks in advance!
I'm assuming it's cold where you are. When the temps are extreme, hot-cold compared to 72* the auto setting will use the recirc. to cool/heat the cab faster. After reaching desired temp it (should) will revert back to outside air.
In cold temperatures the system will always choose fresh air. Using recirc in cold temps will cause window fogging. Even if you manually turn on recirc it will time out in about 5 minutes and automatically switch back to fresh air. In the warm weather when the temp reaches 75 it will automatically switch to recirc. Recirculate is intended for hot weather or to keep foul odors out of the vehicle.
