I just installed Eibach's yesterday since Bilstein's were on backorder. They look identical to 5100's and I do like the ride. I was just going to install a spacer for 2.5" level until I drove on the interstate with expansion joints and stock shocks/struts did very little in my opinion as far as dampening is concerned. Much smoother now. I installed at stock level and used my billet spacers which made installing the springs on the struts much easier. I've had Bilsteins on several trucks before and these feel similar if not identical. Very satisfied.

Tire Rack has had them out of stock for almost a month now. Nobody has them and nobody knows when they will. I am very disappointed in Bilstein right now. I ordered mine back in early October and got them, but when I went to install them a month later I discovered that one front was damaged and there was no more to be found. So I have been waiting for one stinking 5100 front shock for over 3 months now.

For all you saying the 18's got new mono-tubes, that is wrong. A couple members with 18's and I compared shocks (my 17). They are the same exact part numbers.

I'm pretty sure that Bilstein 5100s will find their way onto the back of my truck relatively soon. Fronts too, but that will be a little longer. I'm into getting the front up a little because while I think the back should be higher than the front, it shouldn't be very much higher.

Then the suspension geometry or something else changed. Either way, they fixed a very common problem that many people complained about. The 18's do not seem to skip around like the 15-17's do.

Also perhaps there were some wheelbases and load outs that had different part numbers ( i think there's multiple different oem shock part numbers for the f150) had the issue worse and they changed those.

Whats odd is one was 4x4 and one RWD, mine is RWD and they all had the same rear shock part #.

Believe me. I was content with my '17. Until I put the 5100s on LOL

Got into a pavement issue at where the back end bounced so much (like three full strokes) that I'm suspecting the wheels had to have come off the ground. Good thing this was not encountered in a curve.

How much (some assessment) is the rebound dampening changed for the rear 5100's? I'm hoping it is significant, but not holding my breath as I've used front 5100's on a previous truck and felt they should have had more rebound as top-out was too rapid.

This is why I'm also considering the RS9000--maybe even the RS7000.
