Default 5* Tuning and shifting

Ive had my tuner from 5* for about a week, have about 100 miles on the truck. Im running the adaptive tune and quite honestly do not drive like a bat out of hell. I mainly bought the tuner in order to recalibrate my transmission to handle the larger tires a bit better. I have to admit I am quite disappointed so far in how my truck is shifting. It shifts so hard (up and down) Im chirping the tires in the lower gears, it is quite violent! I have heard it takes awhile for the trans to relearn but this seems a bit excessive. I have also read people saying this isnt normal and something is wrong with the tune. I need to hear from others that have had their tuners for awhile on how this thing works. Do I need to do a KAM reset? Do I just need to be patient? Am I missing something??

Thanks

My 5Star tune shifts more firmly, but in no way harsh or violent.

Default Nope

I also run the adaptive tune from 5 star, and if anything, the shifting was better than stock, not worse. Doesn't sound like what you describe.

Was it that way from the time you uploaded the tune?

When you got your tunes, their should have been tuner's initials at the bottom of the email- ask to talk to that person, and tell them what you dont like about how the truck is performing and ask if they can change the shifting and send you that revised tune, maybe that way you won't have to datalog and send files in, wait, etc.

they'll ask you to take logs. There's a process on how to submit for updated maps.

The adaptive tune...my least favorite. Go to the 93 tow/performance or the 93 performance and you'll never go back to the adaptive.

The adaptive is being used for a specific reason... I use my truck all over the country, it made sense to have something that worked all over the country.

they’ll get you taken care of, my adaptive tune also shifts perfectly, it’s actually now my preferred tune for towing. As someone mentioned just call and ask for the person who’s initials are at the bottom if your email with you me tuned. Most likely they’ll be able to just shoot you a revision over without needing logs, if you can explain to them your concerns and wants.
