Has anyone else had success in getting their dealer to replace the timing chain tensioner to get rid of the noise? I found one Youtube video where the owner said their timing chain tensioner replacement also solved the chirp noise - they are supposed to send me a copy of the invoice for the work. He said he's not a member of this forum.

The dealer I bought the truck from FINALLY looked into the chirp/squeak and said it's coming from the back of the engine, possibly the cam caps. And they asked me to return the loaner vehicle, pick up my truck, and return in 2 weeks for them to actually look into diagnosis and replacement of parts. By the time I drop the truck off in 2 weeks, and pick it up, it will have been 6 total trips to the dealer for this issue.

I disagree with their diagnosis on the location of the noise.

still no chirp after the fix? I’m gonna bring mine in for my next oil change. No time to get to dealer unless absolutely necessary before then

Currently still purring (knock on wood). When I step out my front door, I have to look at my mirror marker lights to know if its running. Whereas before I would hear it the second I opened the door.

@Jfalat Have you taken your truck to the dealer for it? Show them the invoice on page 7 and see what they say? I am fighting with my dealer to do something about it at the moment.

Is there a current list of TSBs for the 18/19 5.0. mine started the grinding noise when I let off the gas.

Ah just got the call from my new dealer of choice. They heard the noise, removed belts, truck still did it and then they traced it to the timing chain tensioner cover. Parts have been ordered and getting repaired!!! Finally!!! They also said this isn't the first truck to have this done. I sent them my video, link to this forum, and the work order that has been posted on here.. They said even with all that info they still had to diagnose it themselves but I think that helped.

yeah I'm pretty happy. Said they will be removing the cover to inspect everything and they ordered the tensioners anyways to replace. We will see what happens. Weird that they are making a squeak like this.

Hope my dealer has an epiphany on Monday and gets this resolved. It is very frustrating. Their last update was that they thought it was from the bellhousing area, possibly a cam cap, and wanted to tear the engine down to try to find it. They made it sound like they were going in blind, maybe as a scare tactic.

My word order said right on it they heard the squeak after 5 minutes, removed acc belt, noise still there, traced to timing component cover. Seems to be the common area
