5.0 Whistle WOT
Anybody else have this with their 5.0?
I've never really opened it up until recently and noticed at high RPM's, there's a high pitch whistle. I realize this is most likely due to air accelerating through the TB and intake manifold, but wanted to know if it's just mine or if it's common on the 5.0. I don't remember my last one doing that.
If it is a common occurrence, it makes me wonder if the stock components are a little too restrictive for the engine's displacement.

Beer, Boats, and Trucks.
Sorry I got nothing for you, I just cleaned my throttle body recently and just got a slight whistle. Not at WOT only as slight acceleration... Also only with my K&N system not my stock system (I swapped them to see if its coming from the TB or the tubes/filter)

Whistle while you work?
No whistling here, just a nice roar.
Check your air filter

Yeah...that was my first guess but figured since it's essentially a brand new truck, the filter shouldn't matter. Looks like I'll be setting up my first service appointment :-/

I figured this was just a characteristic of the 5.0 so I'm fairly disappointed that it's an anomaly. It's gotta go in for it's next oil change anyway, so that's when I'll have them take a look. I just know the typical answer..."It's working as designed..."
So obnoxious. At least I'll have it documented then.

May be the air inlet rubber or something loose. I would check everything I could before taking it in.
Check out the CAI.

Weird that some of us have it and some of don't. Maybe it's a sensitivity thing...I don't know. Either way...if it's not supposed to be there (and according to a service rep at the dealer), it's not, then I'm going to get it fixed.
