I went with the 5.0 and have been happy. Love the V8 sound, although a friend has a Platinum with the EcoBoost and a V8 sound is piped into the cabin when you step on it. Plus my dealer offered a lifetime warranty at no charge.

DO you have any idea how much oil vapor it will take to lower the effective octane 1 point? Sounds like you have been listening to snake oil, uh..... catch can salesmen!

The catch can is to keep the throttle body, intake, etc clean. Stopping oil vapors from traveling through the entire intake system is a good thing. There's also a significant amount of reported throttle body failures with EB's. Keeping it cleaner can only help.

Fee free to pollute your motor as much as you wish.

In my last EB, I did have to clean out the CAC twice. That was an ugly/dirty job.
The throttle body failures have absolutely nothing to do the throttle plate! The failures are due to the position sensor, and/or motor, which aren't exposed to the intake!

Your K&N is doing a great job polluting your "motor"!

Man, you are a life saver. My 18 year old Paxton Novi 2000 must be on it's last leg after inhaling all those pollutants through the same K&N all these years! Our 200k mile Honda that doesn't burn a drop of oil is probably nearing death as well.

Thanks for the pictures above. If I'm ever driving through a forest fire, I'll make sure to change filters. Wouldn't want that harmless smoke coming through the filter.

You are so out there it's hilarious. You and your kind have been saying this stuff for 30+ years.

You probably had trouble comprehending the "smoke" test, but it showed that the OEM paper filter media filters better than the K&N filter media!

It's human nature not to be able to admit you screwed up, and buying K&N air filters, and catch cans are screw ups!!!!!! All they will do is lighten your wallet!!!!

Yes, the device that is keeping oil vapors out of my motor is a mistake. So is the reusable filter that I've had on numerous 200+k mile cars that I've owned including turbo and supercharged applications. Two of which I still own.

Somehow the compressor wheel still looks good and I haven't needed new bearings in my Paxton. Turbos survived on my last 3.5EB and my PS 6.0 also. Guess I'm just super lucky!

Edit...forgot about my 1995 zx9r that's still running the same K&N filter since 500 miles old. In case you haven't caught on, I keep some of my stuff a really long time. I take care of them and they take care of me.

Ive seen engines that can fill up a large catch can while running wide open throttle around a road course in 10 laps. They route the can back into the oil pan lol to say they're of no use ever is to be naive. The s2000 when boosted or not benefits like crazy from one. The benefit is only at wide open throttle. I really care not for anything else.

Kool Aid warning! LOL CC and KN have their places, but are a waste on a daily driver. Racing, different story, daily driver, not.

When Ford announced their Cobra Jet Gen 2 (supercharged Coyote 5.0, with 1000+HP) at SEMA in 2015, the Ford’s lead engineer on the Cobra Jet Gen 2 was there from Dearborn. I had an interesting discussion with him, and I asked him about the catch can. He said he was against them, and he said when the engine went through all their testing, the catch can was bone dry:

Shelby GT-350 Mustang uses a paper media cone air filter, instead of a gauze media filter for better filtration:
