5.0 mpg
I love my 2019 f150 with the 5.0 coyote but as many of you I am sure agree the MPG is a little brutal, about 14.8 around town. I forget what it was when I was commuting with it maybe 16. I am no stranger to v8's and didnt buy a truck to complain about mpg but man. My buddy has a Silverado with the 6.2 and he gets over 20mpg. His cylinder deactivation is tuned out so that isnt even a factor. Isn't a DOHC v8 supposed to be more efficient than a pushrod v8?

I've seen it! I hit it sometimes but I baby her, funny thing is my wife has been driving it lately because she works local and I have about a 40 min ride to work.

That GM engine is pretty stout, but doesn't sound NEAR as good as the Coyote, lol!
EPA figures for the 6.2 are 14 city/20 highway. Sounds like your friend has found a way to achieve maximum mpg, but as Adambomb94 notes, the variables are many...including 2 or 4 wheel drive, rear end ratio and how far you push the 'go pedal' down. I can EASILY change my mpg by 3 or more by my driving habits. I bought what I did in order to ENJOY it, I pretty well flog it most the time, and living in a rural area run 80 - 85 mph...and still get a combined mpg of just under 17...which I think is phenomenal for a 12.5:1 compression engine making 400 ponies, 400 torque.
Just for the same of argument...when you say, "I've seen it!", was this a momentary dash readout or a long drive where you did the hand calculations on miles driven vs fuel used? Because any joker can 'manipulate' the dash readout to show whatever mpg they want to...every now and then some lame-*** will post a 'hyper-mileage' screen shot and try to claim it is "what I get all the time", and everyone knows it's not true.

When I drive 4 miles to work and throw in some errands I'm low 13's to high 13's.
Now that I'm still working from home, my trips are more steady and a bit further than work and I'm in the low 15's or so during a fillup.

Yeah, not sure either. We have a 2019 5.0 4x4 with 3.31 gears, 10-speed and FX-4 package. It is a regular cab, short-bed and yes a little hot rod when pedal gets pushed a bit. This truck has about 24,000 miles now and after break-in at about 8,000 miles - it averages 22-23 mpg on a daily 75 mile drive. This includes a 7 mile stretch of steep hills at over 7,000 foot elevation and some city driving. And then about a half mile steep uphill of 4x4 coming home.
That being said, this may be the right driving environment for this truck set-up as was planned. On the highway at long distance, it has not been so impressive. Probably somewhere around 18-19 mpg driving 80 mph. It rarely gets out on long interstate trips and wind at our elevation matters. It's been an excellent vehicle so far with no issues.

Damn, all of you are getting better than me. I'm averaging 10 right now. That being said my commute is only 2 miles so my tank lasts at least a month. However, even on a road trip through Nebraska I only got 15 at best.

My 2019 gets hand calculated runs around 19 mpg. I have 1.5 inch level on stock wheels tires. But I’m 80% highway and drive 35,000-40,000 miles a year. Will drop some with winter remote starts and idling

Everyone trying to compare claims versus actual data. I am probably one of the few who has the real-world data.
2015 GMC Sierra 5.3L 3.31 4WD (cylinder deactivation) - Leveled and + 1 on tires. 21.6 mpg on 4 hr. interstate drive and 16.9 on the way back pulling a 6x12 U-Haul trailer with my daughter's college stuff. Average mixed mpg - 16.5 mpg
2016 Ford F150 5.0L 3.55 4WD - Leveled and +1 on tires. 15.6 on the same interstate drive and 12.8 with the same U-Haul trailer the following year. Average mixed mpg - 13.9 mpg
The interstate drive is relatively flat the whole way. The GMC towed better on a flat highway than my current F150. All hand calculated fuel mileage and corrected for +1 tires
