I know it was common to separate the cab when they had to do head work on the F250 diesels. But I didn't think they did that with the late model F150's.
Saw this at the dealer today. Not sure what it was in for, but the intake plenum was off. I kinda wished they stuffed rags in the intake ports, you know just in case. Then again, maybe they are replacing the motor.
I saw the same thing in a local Ford store. Tech I was talking to tells me once you've done a couple you can have the cab off in less than an hour. Says way easier to get at the engine. I would suspect this is done only for something major.

I bet getting the cab off is the easy part,, he'll bet I could even do it... It's getting it back on and everything working right that would screw me up..

I second ^this^ putting it back on has to be the more difficult part.
This is quite common, and nothing to worry about. There's not much that can be screwed up, here....everything unbolts and is lifted up. My '08 F250 had a cab-off engine replacement when it was brand-new before purchase. The only way I found out was when I had an OASIS report pulled a few months after purchase out of blind curiosity.
Thousands of these things are done every year on Super Duties, and I have yet to hear of anyone with issues related to the cab removal. Wouldn't bother me if they did this to my truck.
