Ya they are quite a few feet away. Which makes no damn sense to me as to why my 4wd just all of a sudden quit working.

I'm not sure what to think, obviously all you guys have the 4A feature. Next time this happens, pull the connector on the solenoid and see if the IWE's lock in, or just try it. I'm only guessing, but for some reason the TCCM is kicking it out. I wonder if the TC is also going back to 2H. You say they replaced the clutch in the TC?

I think he said they rebuilt the TC, but it still did the same thing as before.

Yes, I guess he did.
I think I'd try to find a dealer that would listen and have a real conversation, friendly, with. Replacing IWE's and the rest isn't going to fix anything until someone checks a little further upstream, such as the TCCM. That's the brains of the outfit.

You think the IWEs could be messing with the TCCM?

No, the TCCM sends a signal, [makes up ground], to energize the solenoid, to disengage the IWE. IWE controls nothing. The reverse happens to engage IWE. My logic says to check out the TCCM. It's something in the 4X4 controls disabling the system.

You could be on to something. That’d explain why my 4wd would’ve just up and quit out of the blue.

Not trying to be smart, I'm assuming all fuses relating to 4X have been checked?
