I voted before I read, my bad. I think 4x4 is more common. I have 4x2. I think I'm old enough to know that I don't need 4x4 but maybe once a year and once a year isn't worth the increase in price. Resale/trade-in value means nothing to me. I'm not outfitting my truck for the next person 6 or 7 years down the road.

Always strange to me when I travel to places like Florida and see 4x2s driving around. Being from Colorado I don't think I can remember seeing anything but 4x4s. I can certainly if you are a flat lander where there is no snow the 4x2 would be the best option. Just strange for me.

I've never even seen a 2wd 15 in person. 100% of them here are 4wd.

I never have owned a truck that was not a 4x4. I would still buy a 4x4 even if not needed, but all the boats I've own and trailers I have pulled always nice to have 4wd. I really like the auto 4wd feature in the Lariat. They should offer that in the XLT.

Default 4x2 or 4x4

Living in californastan one really doesn't need a 4x4. Most 4x4 here never see mud, dirt, or snow. There asphalt queens.

I have only had 1 4x4 and never used it. All my other trucks have been 4x2. I feel they have a better ride. They also handle better on the street.

My very first pick up was a 1970 F100 4x2 without posi. I lived in Spokane Wa. My first winter there was like 4 months long it was terrible. I drove all over in that thing in the snow. Hella fun. Just gota know your limits.

4x4 here. With the amount of snow I have to drive through each year a 4x2 would be pointless.

flawed poll! It is pretty much going to show the differences between states with snow/bad weather and the sun belt (with a few anomalies of course)

The few anomalies might end up being the entire state of Texas. We love our 4x4s down here (except me). I grew up in PA and it was rare to see a 4x2 where we lived. I assumed all trucks were 4 wheel drive until my first car (88' Ford Ranger) where I quickly learned of this thing called RWD - then the donuts in snow ensued. But yea, that thing was worthless in the winter and I delivered pizzas so it's amazing I'm not dead.

I came down here thinking all the trucks would be 4x2 except ranchers. Wrong. You'd think 4x4, 6" lift, 35"+ tires, tow mirrors, and ranch hand bumpers were the only choices on the lots.

The only reason I went 4x2 this time is that I could get the electronic locking rear. I only need 4x4 very rarely and I think the El rear might do for those needs
