For those of you that don't know, if you have two keys you can use your vehicle to program a third one for safe keeping if you ever lost one. If you don't do this you will be required to pay the dealer programming fees.

You can program an extra key yourself as long as you have two keys already. I got a keyless fob on ebay for 40 a while ago and programed myself. My dealer cut the hidden key inside for free for me.

Ya most of the ads say this but its not true. But when I get it and program I will advise.

 

Yea it was the parts dept. I just walked in there one day told them I got the keyless keyfob and blank backup hard key on ebay and how much to cut it. He went and did it took about 30 sec and said here have it...

 

Can anyone confirm if this older type of key will work on a 2016 XLT? The listing says it works. I'm just looking to get a backup key incase I lose one.

Was at dealership this morning for oil change and walked over too parts too ask how much too cut a key. Was expecting 29.00-39.00 Bucks.
He's I'll do it for free if you just need it cut...
