Default 3rd engine in 6 years

Just found out my F150 XLT 5.0 engine needs to be replaced again. First engine went bad Dec.2021 with only 45k on it and took 8 months to get another. 2nd one lasted 12 months with another 16k. The kicker is Ford wants me to pay for this one!!!!

What went bad on it? I've had two 5.0's and neither have given me any problems. In fact, the 5.0 in my '12 Mustang GT got the crap beat out of it for 7 years and it never complained. I use only Mobil1 oil in all my vehicles and so far haven't had any engine-related problems in any of them.

They really didn't say with the first, running rough and they replaced a sensor, ran ok for a week and then got worse. Took it in to dealer and found metal in oil, engine basically tore itself up (all service and oil changes up to date). Said the second broke timing chain?

12 months and only 16k and it isn't covered by warranty.....something doesn't sound right....I would be contacting Ford about this and finding a better dealer that will stick up for you.

its not the dealer, its fords rules

if it was replaced under factory powertrain warranty

Service part warranty coverage is 12mo/12k miles or reminder of powertrain whichever is greater. and coverage does not reset if failure happens in that time frame

now that being said, the dealer can request on the OP's behalf, financial assistance from Ford for this. That is what i would do

Ford's website says differently.....I go with what I originally said. In my 30+ years of warranty work I have never heard of such a low mileage engine warranty.
