360 Degree Camera - Parking Scenarios
I've seem some general videos on the 360 camera, but no one seems to demonstrate the 2 scenarios that hope it would be useful for.
One is when you are swinging into a parking spot and you are not sure if you might clip the car next to you during the turn. Usually you backup up a bit to get a little straighter angle and then pull in, or someone waves you in, but I am wondering if the camera is accurate enough to see your actual clearance. If Ford draws a gray box around the truck and you can't actually see your own bumper would the camera help much?
The other situation is pulling into a garage with limited space where you need to pull forward right to within a few inches of the end of the garage. Same issue with the gray box blocking you from seeing your actual bumper. How well would the camera work in gauging such find tolerances?
Hopefully some of you new owners will have some answers. Thanks.

I'll be interested in some owner opinions also. I want to get a new Lariat this Fall. I really want the 360 camera set up. Only problem for me, I don't see where I can build a 2.7 with the tech package. I hope I am wrong.

I have. They barely move the vehicle. What kind of demonstration is that? At least with the parking assist feature they actually park the truck. ;-)
Regardless, thanks for passing on the videos.

Forrest48, I had the same exact problem with not being able to select the tech package when building my Lariat with the 2.7 I had to have my dealer help me with building it exactly as I wanted it. But it is not just you....
I also have been brain storming what the 360 camera will help me with. I am not even sure the truck is going to fit in my garage...LOL..so that camera hopefully will work it's magic!

I have the 360 camera and love it! I have a side load garage and park next to a popup camper that is in the garage, and the camera is a lifesaver for being able to get the truck in easily. Also works well for parking at work, can easily see the lines in the lot and lets me line up perfectly.
Having come from a mid-sized Frontier, this has helped the transition to something bigger far easier than I thought it would be.

strumph3, So was your dealer able to add the tech package (360 degree camera system) to your 2.7 build? I sure hope so. :-)

I use the 360 every time I drive. For some reason, this F-150 feels bigger than my old one, maybe the extra inches inside does it, and I was always pretty bad parking my 2007. I fold my trailer tow mirrors going in/out of the garage and use the 360 to back out and to get the nose where I want it in the garage going in. Between the 360 and the convex lower mirrors on the TT, I can line up perfectly in parking spots and also use the front camera to pull forward as much as possible since I have the 6.5'. I love it!

My experience has been the same as what others stated. The 360 camera is used daily. It has been a lifeline for parking in garage, assessing closeness to another vehicle or structure when rounding a curve to navigating through narrow *** drive through lanes. BTW I had the same in a BMW and the functionality was the exact same. Ford did a great job with this feature.

Is the gray box around the 360 view actually the edge of the truck, or is there a built in gap?
Is lane keeping a throw away feature just to get the 360 cameras, or do you like it as well?
