3 engines all the same price

Just traded in my 2015 5.0 XLT 302A because I couldn't stand the way I had to stay in the throttle to keep the engine in its power band... Sure it had great power... At 4000+ rpm!!! Got tired of the abysmal fuel mileage... I had traded in a 3.5eco and loved the low low low end torque and power all the way to the top. It actually felt more willing to tow than my slightly modified 7.3 Powerstroke.. The 5.0 sounds great but is lazy till you kick it in the pants.. The 3.5 is without a doubt more capable... Had 41K on my 3.5TT with zero issues and I trade every two years so all the Eco horror stories never bothered me. Both my 5.0s had a distinctive tick in the motor that was quite noticeable at idle so who knows what the long term would have been on those motors either. My newest 2015 has the a 2.7TT and feels just like my 3.5TT off the line but my 3.5TT will eat its lunch after 70 mph... I have enough miles compiled in all of them that I know for myself which motor I would choose. They are all great motors and I would happily drive any of them but there is no comparison between the 5.0 and the Eco twins in normal day to day driving.. If towing every day is your thing then the order I would place the motors in is: 3.5TT= best of all points..5.0= great loaded in the upper ranges and least potential for high mileage issues but suffers on the bottom and gear hunts more. 2.7TT= rocket ship in normal driving and commuting with pretty decent mileage but will get a little winded in the upper reaches..... Now obviously these recommendations are based on similar gearing and all were 2 wheel drive.. Everyone has an opinion but mine are at the very least based on experience and not advertisements or supposition.

Hard to find 5.0 with 3.73 gears on the lot. in any case my 2013 5.0 with 3.55 gears was plenty strong well below 4k rpms.
