3.55 axle vs. 3.31 axle Fuel Economy
I have a King Ranch 4X4 with the 3.5 EB SUPER CREW on order with the 3.31 axle. Chose it for fuel economy, but I've heard that if I chose the 3.55 there wouldn't be much difference around town. Rarely drive on the highway with it although I believe if I saw any difference that's where I might notice it.
By going 3.55 it also upgrades to max trailer tow group and heavier duty rear bumper.
Anyone know how much fuel I'd sacrifice both city and hwy?

Go with 3.55. You might lose 1/2 mpg on the highway.

Yup, 3.73 on the Eco means Max. Tow, not 3.55.
On my Canadian configured Platinum the Max. Tow means the mysterious upgraded rear bumper is all you get compared to the standard already included Regular Tow and Brake Controller. And they want $1750 Cdn for it. Needless to say I did not order that option (though there might be other hidden things that come with Max. Tow, Ford doesn't think they are important enough to mention).

Max Tow (53C) requires the 3.5 Ecoboost, it's not available on the 5.0.
You may be confusing it with HD Payload (627) that's available with either engine, and requires the long wheelbase. That's packaged with the 3.73 e-locker. If you order it with a 3.5 Ecoboost it includes 53C, if you order it with the 5.0 it includes 53A Trailer Tow Package. 627 isn't available on a trim level higher than Lariat Base (500A), but 53C is available up through KR and Platinum with the Ecoboost.
