I’m starting to think there is either something wrong with the truck or someone messed with it with forscan. I find the latter hard to believe since it is bone stock otherwise. It did it again yesterday at the gas station. I rolled down the window since I don’t trust it and was able to get back in easily.

I did some checking last night. My XL can't be connected to Ford Pass. I checked my window sticker and a couple of old pages on dealer websites.

I hate, hate, hate, the new iphone autocorrect. It has recognized the right letters and I see the right words, but when I go to the next it changes them. It has gotten 10x worse in the last year.

Have you tried turning off Autolock?

I have never heard of it. It looks like the old NES mario cheat, but I'll definitely try it. Thank you for sharing.

In another post I just found it apparently doesn't work this way after a change in 2019. One post also makes it sound like it is the function that locks your vehicle after you start driving. Mine is locking itself after I shut the door with the truck running.

I'm putting an update on here in case anyone searches this in the future. I did some testing the other day and was able to replicate the issue that originally happened. I had been driving the truck, past the auto-lock limit, and came to a stop and put it in park. I got out, left the key in the ignition and shut the door. At this point, the lock was still up. I reached to open the door and as I pulled the handle, it automatically locked the door.

I can't imagine this is a feature and is a defect of some sort. It's out of the bumper-to-bumper warranty so I'm not going to have Ford look at it. I have the keypad, just haven't had the time to install it yet. That will alleviate the issue if I accidentally lock myself out. I will also try turning off auto lock and see if that stops it from happening too. I'll update once I have tested that.
