Question 2018 xl base : Adding features

Does anyone know what features are "dormant" in a base model XL Trucks? I know Ford sometimes installs the full wiring harnesses/plugs for uniformity at the assembly line but they are not necessarily active on some base model vehicles.
Things like remote entry/keyless entry, Power Locks, etc?

I understand a new Key FOB would be needed and programmed but has anyone added power locks/keyless entry?

The reason I ask this question is because my neighbor has a Base XL (no power locks, windows, etc) but it did come with the little code in the owner's manual. This would lead us to believe the truck has some sort of programming from the factory?

Thanks!

without power locks, there really isn’t any freebie upgrades like remote start or keypad on driver’s door. Even 8” sync 3 APIM requires extra parts. You have a better chance with an XL STX package or even an XLT.

All the trucks come with the code whether they can use it or not. The only way you will know what can be done is by looking at the wiring.

Ok thanks - maybe next step is to remove the interior door panel to see if there is any wiring

That’s about it. My understanding is that the 100A is a harness of its own while the 101A with power goodies is an XLT harness.

If it’s like the older generation XL models, you won’t find provisions for any goodies in the doors.
