Sync 3 update vs feature update.

By the way, this board is a very skeptical lot! ROFL

If I'm understanding this correctly Microsoft is just the messenger. Ford gives them the updates to pass along.

The modem seems like it’s just knocked out.

This is old stuff about replacing ford modems on recall. Might come back to this?? Just thinking out loud.

Replacing modem don’t seem like a bad idea if it’s gonna take months to fix ?

If modem is “knocked out” how could it receive a new update to fix? I’m not to Computer smart but it would have to be someone “ alive “ to receive update? Maybe it is though “awake/alive”, cause like I said earlier, att said diagnostic was good???

I called Ford Pass a few hours ago. They confirmed this is a known problem affecting all 2018's. Similar info to what has already been posted here. Working hard to resolve it and will call back once it's fixed...

My new 2018 is working, just set it up yesterday. Did make sure to turn off automatic update.

What version is every one on that is having trouble?

I am on 2.3.

I picked up my 2018 truck Saturday and when I was at the dealer I saw the remote and scheduled start icons on my phone. I haven't started my hotspot "trial" period and haven't signed up for anything. I had the FordPass app on my phone prior to my new truck.

Now I don't see the remote or scheduled start apps on my phone app. Is this due to the snafu being talked about in this thread?

Need to be in "vehicle controls" tab and not the "My vehicles tab" Might need to sign up for ford pass before it shows.

Also I would be sure automatic update is turn off in your sync3
