Question 2018 VCT Replacement

Hello! My 2018 Lariat has developed the dreaded cold start cam phaser rattle (90k miles). I've done enough research to know how to mitigate the noise (hold throttle down to keep from starting until oil pressure is built up) but I need to get it fixed... I also know its a fairly involved procedure and am agonizing about who I should trust to tear into my 3.5 eco-boost all the way to the cams and timing chains. Given what seems to be the widespread nature of this issue, I'm wondering if there is anyone in the Sacramento area (Folsom CA) that has already had this repair done and whether you would recommend the mechanic or dealer shop that did this repair for you?

BTW, I'm a new member and this is my first post... Looking forward to networking with other F-150 owners. THANKS!

Dealership here wants $4000 for just the phasers replacement. Having the neighbor do it and replacing water pump, plugs, tensioner setup, timing chains and phasers is going to run me $2500. Make sure you insist on getting the new redesigned phasers and not old stock if you have it done otherwise you will be doing it again later. Also check on parts availability. The valve cover gaskets have been backordered for months and 50,000+ waiting list. No know aftermarket that I'm aware of. I even begged Felpro to start making them. Goldmine settin there if you ask me.
