Default 2018 using oil

This 5.0 have been using oil since it was new. Had the oil changed at 4500 miles it now has little over 5000 and it appears to be about a quart low. All input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I would take it to the dealer if its under warranty. Have you gotten under the truck to check for leaks to see where it is leaking?

If it's brand new, they are known to consume while break in. My 18 just hit 4818, and I had the initial oil change done at 1000 so almost 3k and I'm low. It should stop once the engine breaks in. Regardless I would take it in for an oil consumption protocol.

agreed but a quart low is a pretty substantial amount for a new car even during break in period?

...actually mine drank almost 3 liters in the first 7000 km, now uses a quarter liter per 5k and stlll falling. Freaked me out for the first few months but seemed to auto-correct as the 5.0 broke itself in.

Oil consumption test is still a good idea, I had one done and noted on the WO at the dealer just in case.

I am experiencing the same thing, I am at 5000km and was down 2 litres. I'm confident once the motor is broken-in the oil consumption will stop.
