Default 2018 sync question

Just got a new lariat 502a with sync 3. It says it’s the 2.3 version I believe and my question is when trying to add the ford connect app it tells me to go to the “my apps” button on my screen to access it. I don’t see that anyplace in any of my screens. My wife’s navigator has one but mine doesn’t. Am I missing something here? Thanks guys!!

Can't read your post due to the crappy IOS app you're using.

However, let me try and explain.

The Ford app you refer to allows remote start and vehicle location. It REQUIRES you to have purchased the option SYNC CONNECT with your vehicle. That's different than Sync 3. It's a separate line item which costs a few hundred dollars. If you didn't not get SYNC CONNECT with your vehicle, then you cannot use the Ford app to remote start or locate your truck.

SYNC CONNECT cannot be added. Ford announced that "this summer" (meaning the summer just ended) they would be releasing a new product to add to vehicles that did not come with SYNC CONNECT (including older models) to provide similar capabilities. Then they did not release it...
