Default 2018 surging under load/high boost

I have a 2018 3.5 Supercrew 4x4 xlt, originally from Canada. Build date of 9/2017

I never had it before i replaced the plugs with NGK spark plugs - 94374

Issue is that I have been having a surge that feels almost like a misfire. Only occurs while towing.
Started a couple months ago and started to notice it when in stop and go traffic on uphill grade outside of town. Later during the same trip it started becoming consistent when leaning into the throttle to pass people. It seems to be mostly uphill and when getting into the gas.

If i try to drive through the stutter the CEL will eventually start blinking and i got a code 1x. Cylinder 1 misfire.
I replaced the coil and plug and the CEL cleared.

1 month later and getting same issue when towing uphill passing.

Wondering if i should go back to the Motorcraft plugs?
Could i possibly have the issue with the intercooler gunk? given the build date?
Could the TSB about the cam phasers (Ford not willing to fix) be an issue?

I REALLY want to keep this truck but between the knock on cold start and this I'm considering going into debt!
