Default Please Help! 2018 stereo question

New to this forum! Forgive me if this has been gone over. I am getting ready to overhaul the stereo system in my '18. I have the 8" screen with nav, 7 speaker, non Sony non sub system. I already have purchased the DSR-1 Maestro, to bypass the factory amp and keep all controls, etc. I can not find a factory amp anywhere. Is there one, and if so where is it located?? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

There's no Sony system in the 2018. Ford replaced it with a B&O system. In a super crew the AMP is located behind the back seat on the drivers side. There's a latch near the top of the seat that allows the top to be pulled forward.

the standard stereo doesn't have an amp. The Lariat or higher comes with the B&O stereo, XLT or lower is the standard stereo. The best way to upgrade the standard radio is to do the forscan mod to get low level output and defeat the factory eq.

You have to have the 502a option package to get the B&O stereo. I have the a Lariat With the 501a package and do not have the B&O stereo. I have the mid range stereo.

You can get it as a extra option with 501a.

In Canada 501A includes the B&O sound system...thought I would mention since I see both US and Canadian members commenting.

Took my new Platinum into shop today - third time and I have not had it a month. First two were brake system issues - serious ones. This visit is air conditioner doesn't blow cold air, paint chip on right front driver fender (defective paint work they are covering under warranty) and... (the reason I am writing this) - my center speaker on my B&O system sounds horrible! When the nav speaks or a text is read to me, it sounds awful. I think the speaker is blown. I can understand the words at very low volume, but when I am driving on the highway - and have the radio on around volume setting 13 or higher, the navi is very hard to understand... sounds like the speaker and grill are vibrating.

If you don't mind I'm very interested to hear feedback on the DSR-1 install.
