#121
So the dealer called me and said Ford Canada told them to change the starter first, only issue is its on back order. The service advisor says that should tell us something. He said he is hoping to Have it Monday.

Called the dealer day after delivery and they instantly gave me the " It's not our fault we don't build 'em" I said " I'm not mad and I didn't say it was your fault I just want it to be checked out please." They respond "Come in Saturday and drive another one, we think you will find this to be normal."
Why are dealerships mostly a bunch of dicks? Why is it not possible there IS a problem with a brand new truck? Why have you decided the problem is just me, with out even looking at the truck?
I'm not saying the truck will instantly head to the ditch, but it does not drive well and this should not be the norm.

I've never been treated so badly, actually, they are very nice and helpful and I didn't even buy my truck from them.
Good luck

400 miles on my XLT Sport SuperCab. Week old..
2 issues so far..
#1 - The rear drivers side seat fell forward, apparently it was never latched from the factory. I couldn't get it to relatch. It just wouldn't connect. Buddy at work finally got it to close, but there's no strap on the latch, making it almost impossible to open it again.
#2 - After using my remote start, I got in the truck and the Sync screen was completely black. Wouldn't turn on, no audio, nothing. A quick internet search suggested resetting it by holding down the power button, and the seek button for about 10-12 seconds. This reset it, and it came right back on.
A little disappointing to have a couple minor issues already, but not a big deal. This is my 3rd Ford truck (2003 Ranger, 2010 XLT) and by far my favorite. I actually went and test drove a Tundra, considering a switch, but the 2018 XLT Sport BLOWS the Tundra away in looks, and performance IMO.

I picked up my 2018 tonight. This is a very small sample size. I only drove it straight home, which is about 20 miles. Here’s some initial observations, compared to my 2015:
1. There’s still a door gap issue. They’re far from perfect, but within Ford specs I’m sure.
2. The truck is quieter and seems tighter.
4. The doors have a heavier feel. Or, could the hinges be tighter? I’m not sure.
5. The roof seam sealer looks different. It has a more flattened look to it.

I've had my 2018 2 weeks as of tomorrow and absolutely love it. A few observations...
Pleasantly surprised by the gas mileage - getting about the same in the 3.5 Eco compared to my 2.7 Eco. Interesting to see how both hold hills differently. 2.7 felt a bit more lively, probably because I'm still getting used to the 10 speed tranny.
Doors feel a bit more thick - the 'thud' on the doors sounds different than my 2016 did and when locking the truck, the lock on the tailgate and doors doesn't sound as shallow as it used to.
Very minor stuff but I can't complain at all (yet). Had no issues with my 2016 other than the random power issues with Sync where it would just be dead for a trip to or from work.

2018 XLT 3.5 4x4 6.5ft bed 502a max tow - 10,200km
truck has been running great, buuuuuut! It’s happened twice now start the truck in the morning pull out of the driveway turn onto the main road and get a sort of gear grinding sound coming from the front right. Let off the gas it disappears, back on the gas it comes back. Pulled over both times don’t notice anything and begin driving again and it’s fine. It’s not in 4x4 and wasn’t the night before.
Ideas?

One thing you might want to check is the IWE and the check-valve.
