2018 no reverse on startup
Hey newbie here
I have a 2018 F150 5.0 with the 10R80. I had it recently rebuilt (for the second time) and it fails to go in reverse only when cold in the morning. I can hear it click in to gear and when I let off the brake it rolls back, but once I give any throttle it stops and a binding noise starts. I've never pressed the throttle enough to force it for fear of making things worse.
If I take the truck around the block it will go into reverse as normal. If I drive the kids to school in the morning, then leave my truck sit until later in the day the reverse also works normal. Only over the night does it act up.
Fluid level was low after the rebuild (bottom of dip stick) but I got it back to normal (B on stick) and no difference in function
Any thoughts? Could the mechanic have used Mercon LV instead of ULV? Would this make a difference?
