Default 2018 LED headlight - issue

Here's a little brainbuster for you guys.

I swapped out to LED headlight BULBS (truck was halogen), 2018 Lariat. When I have the truck on automatic headlight mode, the passenger headlight with shut off a couple minutes later. The driver side stays on.

Can put the switch to the regular "ON" mode and both lights go on and stay on. That passenger light is the only goes out in auto mode.

I switched bulbs from driver to passenger and the same side still cuts out and the drivers side stays on. SO, this tells me that it's not the bulbs, but something with the truck. (bulbs work perfect)

Don't want to switch back to the halogens, but I also don't want to switch the lights on or off everytime that I use it. Would like LED's and leave it on auto mode.

Thanks for any feedback!!

Ask @Ryan B. He has a full thread on this, but sounds like you didnt run the 4 wires to the BCM and program your truck's BCM correctly for all operations to work.....If you did program and run wires, you could have mispinned a location or 2. Dont know without more detailsof exactly what you did during install. Either way Ryan B can get you straightened out.

If you are using some kind of canbus adapter remove it. Both of mine went bad after some time. I removed them and had no problems, they are not needed. At least not on a 15' Lariat.
Also make sure all your connections are pushed all the way in.

Gabes,
Did you swap in the OEM LED headlights or put Led bulbs in the halogen housings? If you swapped in the OEM LEDs, you will need to do changes to the BCM with Forscan to get everything working correctly. That is true for all headlight swap harnesses whether you get one from me, @2016BoostedGreyGoose or anyone else.

The entire write up on the swap is here: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/halog...an-way-394074/

I put LED bulbs in the stock halogen housings. Owner at the company I bought them from said that he's only heard of this once and it was also on another 2018 Lariat.

I don't want to say what brand bulbs they are (popular ones) because the owner has been very cooperative with me and will refund me. I would just like to keep the LED's and have them work correct. Not sure if another brand would do the same thing?

Its not the fault of the bulbs. These trucks have issues with RF turn signals and headlights.

Honestly, good luck.

Either deal with it, swap back to Halogens or swap to full LED setup = $2,000 ++

You need to get with someone that has access to forscan, make the change from halogen to led on the bcm and you are good to go.
