Default 2018 Howling Under Load

Baffled on a new noise, have a howling noise that started a few hundred miles ago, truck has 40k on it. Taking into the dealer tomorrow morning to have it diagnosed and hopefully repaired under power train. I notice it primarily when under throttle on highway. We have swapped wheels and tires to eliminate tires noise as an issue. Also have a nice clunk on any type of abrupt stop that feels like a driveshaft being bound up. Maybe related?

Is it between 1500-2000 rpms? I just noticed something similar with mine.

Well..it ended up being the rear gears are trash. Claimed them to be on back order... mine does it after the rear end warms up, under any throttle.

I was going to say check u joints or rear end... did they say why it is trashed already?

I looked over mine when changing the fluid at 60k and it looked good, no noticeable play and feels tight. My last truck (Nissan) had a good amount of play in the gearset.

They didn't mention it, and I'm 100% confident they didn't even remove the cover to diagnose. I'm only under power train, but there's a hard slam on the driveshaft when stopping and the howling noise is loud. Even my wife was like what the hell?!
