Default 2018 Ford Pass AT&T Hotspot Modem - Verizon?

Anyone have the wiring diagram for the 18 Platinum AT&T hotspot modem? Would love to peek at it and see if it's possible to convert it to Verizon. Would also need to see what bands the antenna on the roof support. May need to change it out.

Thanks for the help!

My understanding is that the built in SYNC Connect with Wi-Fi Hotspot is an AT&T only service using SYNC in the F150 and the FordPass app. If you have a pre 2018 vehicle you can purchase the FordPass SmartLink OBDII adapter to use with the FordPass app then you can subscribe to Verizon. When you look at Sync in the truck there is only the AT&T option.

Not helping with your questions, but an odd thing I find with the HotSpot in my 2018. While it works great and the SSID broadcasts just as I think it should... the truck does not recognize it for the Sync system. You would think, the truck would be able to use its own Hotspot for automatic Sync updates etc. Sigh....

If you are thinking you can reprogram the modem from ATT to Verizon, probably not. ATT using GSM and Verizon is CDMA. Totally different and non-interchangeable systems. Sort of life wanting to an old 1920's telephone and make it a pocket sized cell phone. If you want to use Verizon, you will either need to use your cell or get a MyFi (WiFi) unit.

I know it’s comparing apples to oranges but most cell phones these days support all the top 4 carrier bands. Just have to get device unlocked. It’s all speculation until either a Ford engineer steps in or someone finds the modem and checks out its internals.

Yep I don't get the hotspot gimmick for cars nowadays... Everyone has a cellphone.

Just something else do get you you to buy that you don't need. LOL

I run Verizon on my cellphone, so I prefer that it is Verizon for a better change of coverage with both when I am out in the middle of nowhere.

Not really. This is like you trying to Wifi hotspot from your smartphone, then connect to wifi with the same phone. It uses the same antenna, etc.

I don't think you can do this. Ford uses AT&T for their data-feed. Not sure Verizon would support that.
