Default 2018 Fake Engine Noise?

Do the 2018 models Lariat and higher with Eco engines still have the fake V8 engine sound that the 2015-2017 had?

Yes... Not really that noticeable, but it can be turned off with Forscan or some dealers will do it. The V6 just sounds the way it does... At least it doesn't sound the like V6 motorboats that GM puts out.

Lariat and higher trims with 3.5EB have it.

I tipped the tech at the dealership $20 to turn it off. It just required a few minutes and his laptop to do it in the service drive.

I prefer it off. It’s more noticeable when you are on the gas a bit more aggressively, rather than just taking it easy. The cab is a bit quieter with it turned off. You’ll, hear the turbos a tiny bit more.

It’s not a huge difference, but I’d pay another $20 to get it turned back off if it ever got turned on again for any reason.

Yes, it's better then the 2016 sound. I haven't disabled it on the 18, since I don't mind it.

This explains so much!! haha Glad I stumbled across this thread. I was wondering what was going on. On the test drive I almost said something to the salesman that we must've grabbed a 5.0 truck but then I saw the turbo boost gauge in the screen. I just couldn't believe this truck was making this rumble sound. Well, this explains it. Well done Ford, they initially tricked me.
