I went and looked. That grill and tailgate stamp is horrid. That broke my itch for a 2018. I'll keep my current F150.

I do like the double bulb taillight and will see if I can get that into mine.

Looks good to me in the upper trim levels but not good enough to buy one right now.


I'll wait for the next generation (20 or 21) and then buy a new KR or Platinum because I like the premium leather seats and the added electronics. That'll also give Ford time to iron out any bugs with the 10-speed and the second gen EcoBoost engine.

It looks great. The stamped tailgate is one of my favorite changes as it gives a much smoother look than the badge F150 which disrupted the look.

People are going to love the front grill in another year when the are everywhere.

It'll grow on most people. I think I replied or posted on this site earlier that i literally hated the 2015's when they first came out. I now like the looks almost the same as my 2012. The 2018's I've seen so far look the best in silver, IMO, but I'm sure that will change once I see more of them in the wild.

The blue Lariat in your first post looks great! I think the rear stamping is too Tacoma-esque, but the 2-bar chrome grill looks WORLDS better than the 3-bar on my 2015, IMO.

That said, I don't think there's a "killer app" for the 2018 that would make me switch up from my 2015, unless I encounter some significant issues with my current truck.

Yep, seeing it in the real world just makes me like the changes. I didn't like the new grill before, and still will never like a chrome grill which is unfortunately most of your pics, but it looks pretty good. The rear stamped tailgate is outstanding and waaaaaay better than a chrome stick on badge.

This will be my 3rd F-150. Love the '18 grill changes and the tailgate, however couldn't get the grill I wanted with the Heavy Duty Payload Pkg I needed, so plan to get a Lariat Sport Appearance Pkg grill in my color, plus somehow replace the rear chrome (I hate chrome too). That with a nice AM front bumper like http://www.addictivedesertdesigns.co...F152281280103/ and powder coating my factory rims black + some bigger KO2s should look pretty trick IMO.
