Default 2018 F150 - Can I turn off the side vents?

Just bought a 2018 F150 XLT. I've noticed that when I have the heat vents set to "floor" I still get hot air blowing out of the "side" vents that point towards the driver and passenger windows. Is that a design feature or is my HVAC system not working correctly? Thanks in advance for the help.

That’s to keep your side windows from fogging up.

That's a feature - on heat there is always some air blowing at the side windows to keep them from fogging. Big windows means bigger vents - and more air moving which is why you are now noticing it. Though all my previous vehicles have been the same - some did this better than others... and the F150 is pretty good, I'd say...

This reminds me of when I was a kid and riding in my father's Jeep. My side window was always fogged up in the winter - guess I had a lot of moisture coming off me. So these little subtle things nowadays like the air constantly on the side windows is a great feature in my eyes.
