2018 f150 5.0 gets more power and 10spd trans

Obvious choice here would be power train programming, you know raising hp and RPM's would necessitate different program shifts and PSI controls not only in the transmission alone but also the torque converters.. Those lil solenoid valves in the valve body have a considerable influence on all those clutches and bands and how they torque control the combinations of those sun gear groups. There is a GM video out there showing the build of the Camaro Transmissions. A lot of automated bays where everything is photo analyzed and barcode recorded for posterity.

I'll probably drive a coyote until they get rid of it. Kinda bothers me a revised version is coming out although that's just the nature of the beast. One of the main reasons I avoid ecoboost is DI. I've had it in 2 cars and had to deal with gummed valves. I hate having to walnut blast every 40k.
I wonder if the internals will be changed on the new 5.0. I'd love a 10spd all day. The MPG increase will be nice!

That was the thought, I'm still waiting to see how On3's twin turbo kit comes out. The 18 5.0 should be able to produce much more power though. I just paid off my 13. Tough decision. If Ford makes a gen 3 Lightning, I'm in 100%.

The article also states they will offer an "electrified" F150 and Mustang in 2020. I wonder if that means all-electric, or hybrid?
EDIT: nevermind... google is my friend. Hybrid it is.

Lots of things are happening in the electric instant power at the wheels category for needful torque

Will the '18 model with Coyote engine still offer the plow package option to those of us in a northern climate that use our F150's to plow. I haven't seen or heard anything.
