Default 2018 deop in bedliner rubbing paint off!

Pulled my bedliner to install a bedrug today. All kind of paint rub through caused by the liner. It is worse around the wheel wells. Is the paint that bad? Or thin? Figuring it needs to be sealed before putting in the bedrug as I live on the coast ;(

Any suggestions

every drop in liner does this, no matter the brand.

I had a drop in bed liner in my 2009 F150 for eight years and it never wore the paint out. The bed looked brand new when I pulled it out to clean everything up.

Almost all drop in's eventually rub the paint off imo. They also can trap moisture and dirt which makes it worse. It's just the nature of the beast but it's more of an eye sore then hurting the truck bed. My new truck I did LineX and would NEVER go back to a drop in liner.........

That is about where I am. I didn’t want to incur the added cost, but I don’t want to half **** it.

It's aluminum and won't rust. Put your bedrug in and forget about it.

Worried about sal****er corrosion from putting kayaks and wet fishing gear. Of course I just found out linex won’t stick to aluminum so scuffs have to be primed...

You might want to check that further because I believe Line X will bond to bare aluminum..... Call LineX direct or a dealer because that just doesn't sound right to me.
