Default 2018 aluminum pan oil leak

Just went under my truck with 2300 miles and sure enough its wet right above the oil plug. Its not enough to cause a drip but it is wet, about a 4 inch section on the pan. I don't know if its enough to worry about as it looks like I could probably just wipe it down every oil change and call it good as long as it doesn't get any worse. What do you guys think, should I try tightening the pan bolts?

From your description of the location, it sounds more likely that it could be a casting void in the pan wall than a gasket leak.

What engine?
I'd definitely keep an eye on it.
Wouldn't hurt to find the pan bolt torque spec. and verify the bolts are per spec.
Do not torque over the spec though however tempting that might be..

Looks like Ford is finally getting rid of that goofy plastic oil pan experiment.

3/25 I think they started with the updated pans on 2/26.

Welp, I'm close. Have to do the belly crawl to see what's under there.

I'd clean it, and see if the leak reappears. If it hasn't dripped to the floor in 2,600+ miles, the leak is minimal. Only after cleaning it perfectly, you'll be able to tell where it's coming from. I have to warn you it's very hard to fix an oil pan leak correctly, since you need to wait way longer than dealers are willing to, and even a drop of oil before sealant cures means a leak again. I had to wait over a week for oil to completely stop dripping on my motorcycle, and only then the fix was permanent. And same with a bunch of trucks with recurring leaks due to sealant oil contamination. If it doesn't drip, I'd probably prefer to leave it alone, but that's just me. Hopefully it was just oil and not a leak. Keep us posted. Good luck.

metal pans don't leak this is impossible.

had to be typed by someone.

while I would say wipe it and check it - if it continues I would suggest the following

clean - remove 2 of the bolts near the wet area - completely - clean them and reinstall them to torque. - remove another 2 (I assume here there are 4 in the area of the spot - of more do rest in groups not all at once) - clean and reinstall to torque. Then - starting at the opposite corner - check the tightness of a few of the other pan bolts in a criss cross manner. This is to make sure others are loose - and to avoid any flange warping.
