I would like to see a dyno comparison of the older and newer 2.7tts
The few dynos I've seen of the earlier 2.7's showed around 265-275hp and 315-325tq, however Drivingline said they were able to get 292hp and 388tq out of a 2016 by running 93.
Drivingline. TQ #'s seem pretty high with that one.

The only dyno of an '18 I've seen is from 5* tuning,

This seems kinda high too, but it wouldn't be in a tuning company's best interest to inflate stock #'s.

Thought we were talking about 18's in here. The 17 has the 6R80, so yeah the 3.73 is faster for sure in it.

[QUOTE=scott150;5655402]Can't decide between getting the 3.5EB with 3.55 or 5.0 with 3.73

Interested in hearing your driving impression after driving these two in the configuration mentioned above. It's a tough decision.

This is so true, my 16 with 3.55 is quicker off the line than my 14 was with 3.15, but passing someone from 50 is a completely different animal. The 14 would haul *** and do 100+ if I wasn't careful , and that was by the time I got around, and with only one gear down, the 16 doing the same passing drops 2-3 gears and is 15-20 MPH slower. Once that 14 got rolling it moved!

Why you guys keep mudding up the conversation with gear change differences with the 6 speed? Has anyone hear driven or even seen a review comparing a 3.31 and 3.73 10 speed??

Good find. The 3.5tt really ramped up performance going to the gen 2 specs. In fact, the 3.5tt gen 1 is MUCH closer to the 2.7tt than 3.5tt gen 2. And yet, the 2017 really isnt quicker than the 2016. Also, power and curve stayed the same for the 2.7tt with the 10 speed indtroduction.

What does this all mean? The 10 speed really does hurt the performance of the eb engines.
Remember, this is a dyno curve for the higher gears. The lower gears may not be able to reach these peaks since there is not enough time to build the boost.

IMO I think the 2.7L builds boost faster since the Turbos are bolted right to the exhaust manifolds!!!FWIW I really liked my 2015 F-150 with the 2.7L Eco Boost but got into a 2017 XL Super Crew 4x4 with 3.5L Eco Boost and 10 speed cheaper then the 2015 Super Cab 4x4 XLT!!!It was a fun truck and I really liked it!!!

It surely helped mpg, but I am thinking a gen 2 3.5tt with the 6-speed would have been even faster!
I kind of agree I don't think the Gen 2 3.5L Eco Boost benefits as much with the 10 speed as the 5.0 does.And FWIW I would have been fine with the 6 speed behind the Gen 2 3.5L Eco Boost!!!Although Mileage might be better with the 10 speed behind the Gen 2 3.5L EB!!!

So I also traded up from a 2017 2.7 to a 2018 3.5 with 3.55 gears. What is your driving experience? I feel the 2.7 just felt faster, sport mode held gears better. Im kinda of disappointed in the 3.5 with 10 speed. Just wondering you take?

If you're not in sport mode or pedal to the medal IMO the 3.5L Eco Boost feels lazier because the transmission is skipping gears!!!Mine shifts from 1-3-5 gears if not running it hard and not in sport mode!!!FWIW my 2017 Super Crew XL STX 4X4 3.5L Eco Boost 10 speed auto 3.55 gears and 20" wheels is faster than the 2017 Super Cab XLT 4x4 2.7L Eco Boost 6 speed auto 3.55 gears and 20" wheels I had I have time slips to prove it!!2015 14.53@92.55 mph 2017 14.45@95.07 mph but yes it seemed like the 2015 was faster but time slips prove otherwise!!!And FWIW the 2017 only has 3 passes down the 1/4 mile the 2015 had at least 9-12 passes down the 1/4 mile!!I also think the 4.7 1st gear ratio in the 10 speed is to much for the Eco Boost and maybe it's not making as much boost in first gear as the 6 speed because it not under as much load with the 10 speeds 1st gear ratio!!!
